Just finishing watching NFL-NFC champion game (Cardinals vs. Panthers), as usual, not being serious, thought of these well-known sport phenomena: how football fans immersed their whole heart and soul in their beloved team patriotically and religiously. Players dare-devilishly gladiatored at the Postmodern-Rome Coliseum enthused with money, fame, and the undesired-injuries, offered by the mega-commercials, sport-news media, owners, and orchestrated by NFL for the money-can-buy-ephemeral-joy package.
I always agree, indeed that the fans' enthralled spirit and enthusiasm find the ABSOLUTELY momentary TRUTH in this transient world supported by NFL (in this case, yes football, just to name "a few") - in letting go, temporarily, of the unnameable depression-n-anxiety, irritating tax-filing, irksome job, relational/workplace problems, marriage/family feuds, funny Hollywood style of politicians tangoing in the D.C., greedy bankers dancing in the Wall Street Casino, the hide-n-seek terrorists, and the peek-a-boo of "the end of the world' and so on so forth...? :)!
I shared that fleeting joy and happiness, and temporarily set aside all my sociological analysis of "Sports and Social Class". Even though, not my favorite sport and team, I momentarily owned that slice of glee in my paradoxical world.
Precious and respectful - is my new Eureka and Ideology, and concluded with Occam's razor, though long enough to be cut short ! See below.
