Now. The triggering event was that Oli copied the CCP's surveillance system to ban any social media from the West causing the young generation’s protect then turning into a coup.

The initial protests against their government dominated by the communist party that is pro-CCP regime, turned into violent coup... The widening social inequality and corruption are the main concerns.
