See More

Long time ago, America was the land of Free, and home of the Brave to build a great and NEW nation - Taiwan can, too, but she might lack of some other geo-political capitals, and the rest of global hierarchical/hegemonic, confounding factors, which take time to fight for.

Note: You might wonder why, not until 1924, did the U S Congress grant citizenship to All Native Americans -the original inhabitants of this vast land -due to the supreme court case of Elk vs. Wilkins in 1884. Not to mention Dred Scott vs. Sanford case in 1857 debated regarding whether African Americans (most of them were slaves at that time) were US. Citizens or not!

Now she is the paradise of the rich and the powerful... and quandary of the voiceless and the poor.

In fact, this is one of the most controversial problems in the US immigration laws. The US grants dual citizenship to 64 countries, while she will not allow it to happen to other 65 countries (For the list, refer to  http://www.dlgimmigration.com/united-states-citizenship/list-of-countries-that-allow-or-disallow-dual-citizenship/) Some pick-n-choose issues here, is beyond the scope of this post. There are historical, politic-economic, socio-cultural reasons for US - the world largest immigrant nation to do so. The less complex naturalization can happen by birth, by marriage, by adoption, by place...etc. and the US. mainly,

But if individuals intend to steal or transport his/her NATIVE/mother country's money, power and the rest of property to the hosting country for inexcusable or unjustifiable reasons, then they are unfairly and heartlessly damaging his/her motherland, while benefiting (even welcomed) by the hosting country.

I do agree with Johnny to a certain degree that I have seen so many rich and powerful families from Taiwan (now China too), bringing in tons of money in the name of pursuing US academic degrees, and real estates / business investments...etc. to benefit US economic conditions. Would anyone deny that one of the greatest strengths of US is------------ her irresistibly "Exceptional"  ATTRACTION !?? (but how do you define "attraction" is another story). Not many other countries have that. So, upgrade to a SuperNation as soon as one can grin emoticon!
